...

My sweet Moon Flower
How her petals pull at me like the tide
an all consuming comfort that binds deeper than light to dark.

There is something about the night that makes her smile.
She loves to count the light years to the stars.
And she loves to love.

Is it cheese like they used to say?
Fluffy pillows of cosmic ash and smoke?
Is it just what you call home?

Oh, My Moon flower.

Does the emptiness of space make you sad?
Or does it give you time to wish you could touch the sun?
I bet you like that sun don't you?

When it gets cold, what do you do?
I know you can't cry.
I have seen your tears rise above you and float into the orbit of your fears.

Can I help you fill what was intended to be empty?
Can I stand here and admire you standing so tall?
Can I have you for my own?

You know I get lonely sometimes.

How would I keep you?
Could you hold me in my atmosphere?
Or would you just float away?

Like all the others?

No...

Our friendship extends greater than the universe.
Strange how things happen like that.
When planets pass close enough for the moons to say hello.
And then we bloom.

My Sweet Moonflower
