Reyna Paeonia

Reyna Paeonia ... Watercolor on Paper (12x12)

British Council invited Ang Ink to interpret the music of Antonio Forcione Quartet. The quartet was invited to perform here in Manila and at Cebu as part of UK week.

I (excitedly) participated! "Earth Spirit" gave birth to another member of the Reyna series, also known as The Digifox flowery portraits. :)

Admittedly, before this activity, I have never heard of the Quartet. But I'm SOOO glad I took part and got exposed to their spellbinding talent. The quartet is AMAZING. Antonio, Nathan, Jenny and Adriano create passion-filled music on their own or together.

Took advantage of the long weekend and went to a nice (but bitin) trip to Ilocos with Eloi. I love the old city of Vigan. Everything is charming and picture-worthy. :)

tuesday night

tuesday night coffee ... left over watercolor on scraps of paper

I was doing some drills last night intended to improve hand and eye coordination, drawing circles and rotating triangles. Then I got bored. :P Here's hoping i can get past the boredom, sustain practicing every night and learn from the drills.
+++++++++++++
reading : random guides on how to draw. Wishing I have a cope of "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain," which has been mentioned countless times on different tutorials.
feeling : strange. nursing a hyper acidic stomach.

Illustration Friday - Tea

Tea is my friend - mixed media
illustrationfriday.com - tea.

In many ways, this is a departure from my old, usual, comfortable style. Mainly a result of seeing and admiring and drooling over a lot of collage/acrylic works. Unfortunately, I didn't know what I was doing. :P It was a fun learning process.

Grateful journal, Jan 3 2006

Peonies are so pretty and graceful and strong and bold all at the same time. I haven't seen one in real life, though.

Starting a paper trail

It feels good to leave thoughts as permanent ink marks on paper instead of pixels on screen. It's more... tangible. Looking at other people's journals, I realized how much art energy and creative chances and thoughts and ideas and time I've been wasting. This year i'll be keeping a *real* one, and I'll be starting with a Grateful Journal. Only feel good entries will be allowed. :)

But then there's this magnificent guy. Seeing his journals is like getting grabbed on the shoulders and shaken mercilessly! Makes me want to turn off the tv and draw away. Maybe after 63 years of journal-ing I'll be half as good as him...

(I can only wish.)
